Ms. Mary Namono Kibere, Permanent Mission of Uganda to the UN in Geneva delivered a statement during the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue on the human rights situation in Eritrea at the ongoing 58th HRC

Uganda called on the HRC to maintain a constructive, non-confrontational, non-politicized dialogue with States and emphasised the need for dialogue with the Government  of Eritrea to enable meaningful promotion and protection of human rights.

AMBASSADOR KAFEERO DELIVERS STATEMENT ON OCCUPIED PALESTINE TERRITORY

Amb. Arthur Kafeero, Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, delivered a statement today during the Interactive Dialogue on the High Commissioner Report on Human Rights Situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory at the ongoing 58th Session of the Human Rights Council.

Uganda called for the need of a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza, the importance to end the blockade and expansion of settlement activity and the urgent need to achieve a two State solution in accordance with UN resolution where Israel and Palestine live side by side in peace and security.

PSST Ramathan Ggoobi paid a courtesy call on Deputy Secretary General of UN Trade & Development (UNCTAD), Pedro Manuel Moreno at the Palais des Nations, Geneva. They had fruitful discussions on plans for an Investment Policy Review in order for the Government of Uganda to achieve its 10-fold growth goal by 2040.

The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, Mr Ramathan Ggoobi met with the CEO of Sucafina SA, Mr Nicolas Tomari. Sucafina SA is one of the global leaders in coffee  exporters, sourcing from countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Southern America countries including Brazil. He was accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Uganda Mission at Geneva, Ambassador Arthur Kafeero. Sucafina is the parent company of Uganda Coffee (UGACOF).
