Ambassador Arthur Kafeero, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Uganda Mission to the UN in Geneva delivered a statement today at the Enhanced Interactive Dialogue on the human rights situation in the Republic of the Sudan, during the ongoing 58th Session of the HRC.

Uganda called for the immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in the Republic of the Sudan; the need for dialogue that is inclusive and geared towards finding a lasting solution. He emphasized the need for continued humanitarian support and confirmed commitment to continue working with the Republic of the Sudan bilaterally and through regional frameworks including C-5, to restore peace and stability in  the Republic of the Sudan.
